Things sometimes seem wrong when you first move to a new city and institution. You can be looking for a completely another study route, the course might not be appropriate for your ideal employment, or you might just no longer be interested in it.

It’s okay if you begin your education in Australia and then decide it’s not the best fit for you. The option of changing courses is available to international Transferring courses students in Australia, but there are a few considerations to make.

Whether your long-term goals are related to your future career, education, or personal aspirations, you must make sure that your new plan fits them better than the prior one when switching to a new city, institution, or course.

The Statement of Change of Rules

International students should be aware that there is a risk associated with any change in request because the Minister may decide to deny your visa if the request is deemed an unauthorized transfer of vital technology and involves an unreasonable risk. In this case, you’ll have to renew student visa. The statement claims all other visa types must be canceled except for some protection and related bridging visas. However, the cancellation of the relevant visa types will be optional.

The home affairs department has added these visa requirements to the law formulation. All holders of Australia Student Visas who are currently enrolled in postgraduate or higher education programs or research-based courses or would like to change their study program, thesis topic, or area of research are subject to Sections 8204A and 8204B.

The new change’s effects on Australia’s study visa

The new rule increases the Minister’s authority. In the public’s interest, the ministry may now decide not to approve the request for a change of course.

However, as holders of an Australian Student Visa, students are entitled to appeal the decision and obtain the report.

Only applicants receiving student visas after July 1st will be subject to these new visa requirements.

Applications that have already been submitted before this date will be fine.

Concerning Condition 8204

These restrictions will be imposed on all holders of Australia Study Visas following condition 8204. The following courses will require an endorsement.
